Left 4 Dead 2 "The Passing" DLC Coming in March, Followed by L4D DLC

And a Comic, Too

by Sarah

We already knew that Left 4 Dead 2 was getting downloadable content known as "The Passing", and we knew that it would bring the characters from the first and second games together somehow. What we did not know was when it was coming out. Now we know. At X10 in San Francisco today, Valve announced that "The Passing" would be coming in March. While they didn't give a date more specific than that, March isn't that far away, meaning it won't be more than a few weeks before the foursome from Left 4 Dead meet the survivors of Left 4 Dead 2 once and for all. It's about time Bill and Coach went head to head.

Valve had more awesome zombie-related news as well. A few weeks after "The Passing" comes out, Left 4 Dead will also be getting some new content, which will show how the survivors from that game got to where they are in "The Passing". This pretty much guarantees that spring is going to be zombie-tastic. Any Left 4 Dead DLC is a must-buy for me, but hopefully these installments will be free of the glitches that plagued "Crash Course" last year.

In addition to all the zombie-filled downloadable content, a Left 4 Dead comic is coming too, I guess because everyone else is doing it. It will be drawn by Michael Avon Oeming and arrive after "The Passing". Altogether, that's a lot of L4D news to take in, but I'm super psyched about "The Passing". I haven't played Left 4 Dead since L4D2 came out, but I'll surely go back for the DLC; I just wonder if it will be weird now that I've gotten so used to using melee weapons all the time.

When we find out more about the DLC and comic release dates, I'll be sure to talk about them incessantly.
