Left 4 Dead 2 Update Adding Bots and Balance to Versus Mode

Also Getting Rid of Finale Auto-Spawning

by Sarah

When it comes to Left 4 Dead 2, I'll almost always choose Campaign or Survival modes over Versus. That being said, I felt that Valve made some pretty nice improvements to L4D2's Versus mode, making it more fun and balanced that the same mode in the first game in the series. Still, there are always room for improvements, and Valve will soon be delivering an update to L4D2 that will even the playing field for the Special Infected. Firstly, bots will be added to your team if you're playing as the Special Infected and don't have four players on your side. Though bots aren't the brightest crayons in the box, it's better than being down a zombie or two. Also, Valve is going to remove auto-spawning in the finale levels to try and eliminate some frustration.

What I find even more important than this particular update is the fact that Valve is obviously taking the time to listen to gamers and respond to their issues. Many developers and publishers simply ship a game and never go back, but Valve continues to support their products years after their release. The Left 4 Dead blog also reminded me about "The Passing" DLC, which I am, of course, very excited for; it's still in development, but hopefully we'll hear more soon. Personally, I didn't really need a reason to start playing L4D2 regularly again, but hey, I'll take it.
