Left 4 Dead Gameplay Video Celebrates Public Demo
Fifteen Minutes of Zombie-Killing Fun
by Sarah
After falling in love with Left 4 Dead at PAX this year, I pre-ordered my copy months ago and therefore was granted early access to the demo, which I’ve been enjoying for the last few days. Even though it’s the same early area that I played at PAX, it seems fresh every time because, well, every experience is different, and you never know where those damn zombies will come from. For those who haven’t played it at all yet, don’t worry! The demo is going live to the public on the Xbox 360 today, meaning that there’s really no reason for any 360 owner to not be playing it.
If you’re still not sure what you’re in for, here’s some footage from the demo levels of the game. Fifteen whole minutes, to be exact. Be aware, though, that your actual experience will probably vary a bit from what you see here. If you’re still unconvinced that this game is going to be awesome, well, I don’t really know what to tell you at this point. Did I mention there were zombies?

well the house part is super slow.. the zombies just sit there and wait for you to aim, make sure you are accurate and fire.. looks like when the guy got in the street the zombies actually started to attack more..
looks pretty cool
AMAZING! Can't wait
You know, I noticed the same thing in this video, the zombies do kind of look like they're just standing around in the house. But when I played, that certainly didn't happen! They still came after us from every room. Like I said, it's different every time!
@Voyou: Yeah, the opening house is a little easy, but I think it is intended as a primer. The game ramps up the difficulty by the second act, and while we haven't had a chance to play the rest of the campaign, I think we can safely assume it will only become more difficult.
Game gets uber intense, especially on the harder difficulties where death is a distinct possibility.
The zombies do tend to wait for you to attack first, but then they just rush you like crazy. It gets real hairy out in the streets when they can come from anywhere, versus in the house where you can sort of corral them.
wat happen to the slow zombies!!! loooks awesome!!
Agreed with Raccoonacorn, once you are outside things get really nuts. It's definitely easier in the house when everything is a little more contained.
GotY.
yea when the video got outside i noticed the zombies were a bit different, seemed to react to things differently in a good way. It looks good, i think ti will be a great game, though i think it will lose in GotY to Valkyria Chronicles :)
I think i will try demo on steam tonight if it is still up.
Have you ever felt like this is supposed to exist in the world?
Last night I had a dream of a zombie apocalypse. This isn't really anything knew, but I like to think that left2dead was the catalyst for this latest one. It was wonderfully terrifying.
