I’ve been waiting impatiently for LittleBigPlanet to come out since I bought my PS3 last year. Unfortunately, it’s been plagued with delays and development issues, and despite what the listed September release date says, I have my doubts that we’ll see this game at all in 2008. Now all of us eagerly anticipating this game might have something else to pine for as well: a PSP version of LittleBigPlanet. Wait, what?



According to inside sources, LittleBigPlanet for the PSP is currently in development. Sony’s Studio Liverpool is said to be handling the game, and that’s about all that is known about it. One would assume that if this game did come to handhelds, it would share some functionality with the PS3 version. Maybe you would be able to take your world with you, or create levels on the go. The idea definitely has potential.

As a PSP owner with not much to look forward to after Crisis Core is completed, I should be excited by this rumor. However, I’d really just like to see LittleBigPlanet get released on the PS3 before they start doing anything else with the title. Nothing is confirmed yet, so we’ll have to wait and see how accurate this story actually is. In the meantime, Sony, how about getting to work on that LBP beta? Please?
