Not about to be outdone by Microsoft and their free holiday 360 theme, Sony has a gift for gamers as well (and no, it’s not Home). Along with the pay DLC for LittleBigPlanet to appear on the PlayStation Store tonight, a free Sackboy Santa costume will be available as well, with a hat and beard to come next week. Man, just when I thought LittleBigPlanet couldn’t get any more adorable! From the PlayStation Blog:

The fun start tomorrow (12/11/08), where we will be giving the Santa coat and a set of trousers for all you SackBoys and SackGirls.

And next week on 12/18/08, you can complete your outfit with a Santa hat and beard that will be available for FREE as well! (But note, the outfit will only be available till January 8th so be sure to download it before then!)

With this outfit on top of the cool Street Fighter gear we just released, Sack people will certainly be fitted. But the holiday cheer doesn’t end here. For those festive fanatics who are definitely feeling very merry and bright, we have more “in store” for you throughout the rest of the month. So, continue checking back in for updates on upcoming LBP DLC!

As I stated yesterday, I am a huge child when it comes to holidays, so naturally this makes me happy. I’m thinking that the Santa outfit will go nicely with the Thanksgiving turkey head my Sackgirl has been sporting since November. I may be too cheap to pay for $2 costumes, but if Sony keeps the free DLC coming, I’ll be one merry gamer through the new year.
