LucasArts Classics Now Available on Steam, Priced to Move

No Complaints Here

by Sarah

As announced earlier this week, the first round of classic LucasArts games have been released on Steam. For the first time in many years, Loom, The Dig, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and a few others are now readily (legally) available. If you’re wondering how much it costs for some old school adventure game action, not to worry: the first wave of games ranges from $4.99 to $19.99, with the point-and-clicks on the lowest end of the pricing spectrum.

These prices are more than fair, even for the $19.99 games (particularly in regards to Lego Indiana Jones, which is barely a year old). This makes it even more likely that I’m going to download every single freaking adventure game that LucasArts puts on Steam; for five dollars, there’s no reason not to. If you’re thinking about making the plunge and don’t know where to start, I recommend Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis for its original (and great) Indy story, multiple endings, and replay value. There’s still no word on the pricing of next week’s The Secret of Monkey Island special edition, but if this is any indication, we won’t have anything to worry about.

For $5, I'm convinced. I'll get them all.
