LucasArts May or May Not Bring Back Adventure Games

Do it! DO IT!!!

by Sarah

If there is one major thing wrong with the video game industry today, it’s the tragic lack of point-and-click adventure games. If there are two major things wrong with the video game industry today, it'd be that point-and-click thing, and the slew of game delays. If there are three things wrong... Okay, you know what, there are a lot of things wrong with the industry! But for me, this is one of them. LucasArts ruled computers (and my heart) back in the late 80s and early 90s with all of their quirky, fun adventure titles, so why are they making it so impossible to get a hold of them today? Is there any way I can play these games without hacking my PSP or downloading an illegal version?

According to Eurogamer, LucasArts is well aware of these properties that they’re holding onto, and may actually do something with them. More specifically, they’re thinking about the two systems that seem perfectly suited for point-and-click games, the Wii and DS:

"We have looked at it… It is something we are continually looking at - new venues to put out our library of games on. We're not announcing anything about that because honestly I don't know anything about it."

Unfortunately, the DS may be out of the question due to size limitations on the cartridge, but it’s good news that LucasArts is at least aware that they’re sitting on these awesome games that are prime for re-release. I’ve long since lost my disc copies of Sam & Max Hit the Road and Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, and even if I could find Last Crusade, there’s not a whole lot I could do with those floppy discs. Come on, LucasArts, do it! Please? Pretty please?
