Mario Super Sluggers in Action
Hope You Like Super-Long Japanese Videos!

Nothing says summer like baseball. Especially when the players of said game are Mario and his friends, and the playing field is littered with giant barrels, explosives, and other obstacles. If you haven’t quite figured out where I’m going with this yet, I’m talking about Mario Super Sluggers, due out this August for the Wii. Kotaku has some gameplay footage courtesy of the Japanese Nintendo Channel. It’s a little long, and in Japanese, but I don’t think you’ll need a translator to figure out what’s going on.
Yes, it pretty much looks exactly how you would expect it to, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be fun and entertaining. Not that it really matters, because it’s a first-party Nintendo game featuring Mario, so it will automatically sell 75,000,000,000 copies. Yes, that’s right, more copies than there are people on this planet. Mario is just that popular. Stay tuned to Gamervision for a full review of Mario Super Sluggers later this summer.

So pumped. I didn't even read anything yet, I just came in here and typed "So pumped."
Oh yeah. I completely understood all of that. And when I say completely, I mean not one frigging thing.
How the hell do you field with only the Wiimote? It seems like this game would be pretty much an exercise in frustration. They might as well just make a slot machine game featuring Mario & Co. along with baseball equipment on the tumblers and call it Mario Super Sluggers. I think it would basically be the same thing.
I wonder if it will have an online mode? I could foresee some fun times that way.
