When Atlus announced that they were bringing Metal Slug XX to the PSP, I wasn't quite sure what to make of it. Sure, I liked the sounds of a $19.99 price point, but I really didn't know much about the series, other than the fact that some people love it and others hate it. After watching this new trailer for the game, though, I've sort of gotten a better idea of what to expect with Metal Slug XX. It's like Contra, only with bigger bad guys, and a more cartoony style. Also, lots of bullets. It says it right in the trailer.

With games like this, there's a fine line between entertainment and redundancy, but I'm hoping Metal Slug XX can fall into the former category. Most of the previous Metal Slug games have been fairly well received, so it's about time I discovered what the series was all about. As a reminder, Metal Slug XX will be out on February 23. Anyone looking forward to the PSP release?
