Microsoft Confirms 360 Price Drop Rumors
20 GB Drops to $299, 60 GB Enters at $349
by Sarah

Rumors have been swirling around for about a month now regarding a price drop for the 20-gig Xbox 360 model, with nearly every retailer confirming it in one way or another. On the eve of E3, Microsoft has decided to finally come clean and announce what everyone already knew: that the 20 GB Xbox 360 was dropping in price to $299. Also announced is yet another 360 model with a 60 GB hard drive, which will enter the market at $349.
Again, this had been rumored for awhile now, so I don't think anyone is going to be terribly shocked by this news. What is surprising, though, is that instead of discontinuing the Arcade model (which does not include a hard drive), Microsoft is dropping the price to $280. Now tell me, why would anyone buy a 360 without a hard drive when they could get a 20-gig for $20 more? Makes no sense to me. Also, in case you were wondering, the Elite model is staying at $449. Happy shopping.

No Canadian price drop or new SKU. Microsoft screws us again. :)
Hopefully something will be announced tomorrow at their conference about a price drop for Microsoft Points, at least. But probably not. :(
Bah. Don't mind me. I'm just bitter.
Already have two.

A price drop? I wouldn't care; however, I would've waited if I knew there was a new 60GB model coming out at the same price (360 is about a month old)! Mind you, it's probably not coming out any time soon in Canada.
