Yesterday, it was revealed that Nintendo was working on a revamp of the classic NES game A Boy and His Blob. Despite the original not holding up too well over time, I was still really excited, as I think it’s a property with a lot of potential. Some new screenshots for the upcoming Wii game have hit the web, and if you’ve ever played A Boy and His Blob, then you can see that they’re, well, exactly what A Boy and His Blob should be. Look, there’s the opening shot from the original, now really pretty! Hey, there’s Blobert as a trampoline! There’s Earth, and there’s Blobolonia! From these screens, it looks pretty much like a shot-for-shot remake of the original (with better controls and more intuitive gameplay to go along with the updated graphics, I would hope).

Check out eleven more blob-tastic screens below. So far, I think it’s looking pretty good. I really hope that the “riding the Blob as a bubble and not touching anything or else you die instantly” part is a lot less of a horrible bitch in this game, though.
