New Final Fantasy XIII Screenshots are Pretty

But Where are the Dudes in Belly Shirts?

by Sarah

Any Final Fantasy XIII news that comes my way is met with a bittersweet reaction these days. On the one hand, it’s nice to see the progress that the game is making, but at the same time, I know it’s going to be a long time before I can actually play the damn thing. Still, that doesn’t mean I wasn’t happy to look at some pretty new screenshots from the upcoming Square Enix game, courtesy of Kotaku.

Originally posted in Japanese gaming mag Famitsu, these images come days after the news that a playable demo of FFXIII will come packaged with Advent Children when it makes its way to Blu-ray. I don’t read Japanese, so I don’t actually know what’s happening in any of these, but that doesn’t really matter. They look nice, and I’m excited for a Final Fantasy with a female lead. Now, if only Squenix would give us a U.S. release date, we’d be all set.

I am scared of another Final Fantasy with a female lead, we all saw how that worked, or didnt work for that matter with FFX-2. The screens look good but as I have stated before, based on the screens and what little we know of the games, Versus looks better and sounds better.

You should post the Versus screens that are up :)

I don't really count FFX-2 as a regular FF game, in fact I try to forget it exists. However, the FF series as a whole has given us some pretty kickass chicks, whether in lead or supporting roles. I am looking forward to this more than Versus, I think.
