The Super Monkey Ball series may not be described by anyone as “hardcore”, but those monkeys have offered up a lot of entertainment with their zany mini-game action. Fans of Wii launch title Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz will be happy to know that Sega has announced a new game in the series, Super Monkey Ball Step & Roll. As you have probably guessed from the title, not only will this new monkey-filled mini-game extravaganza be another Wii title, but it will also have balance board support.

I wasn’t exactly waiting for a new Monkey Ball game with bated breath, but I had fun with Banana Blitz, and the trailer is pretty charming. The game is set to release in early 2010, so expect to hear more in the coming months.
