New Tron Movie in the Works
I Shouldn't Have Written All Those Tank Programs...
by Sarah
It appears that Christmas has come early this year, with Santa bringing me this lovely bit of news: the 1982 Disney classic Tron is about to get a long-awaited sequel.

The original film, in which game designer Flynn (played by the Dude himself) gets trapped in a computer program, spawned several video game adaptations, but now it seems like the next chapter in this story is finally in motion. Stephen Lisberger, who co-wrote and directed the original film, is slated to produce this time around, with Lost writers Adam Horowitz and Eddie Kitsis helming the new script.
What’s more, Jeff Bridges is apparently considering whether or not to return to the film, if invited.
Normally, I would be a little wary about a new approach to a decades-old film that I love, but with writers from Lost, the original writer and director on board, and a possible return from Jeff Bridges, I don’t see how they could go wrong. No word on a release date yet, but whenever it does make it to theaters, you better believe I’ll be the first one there.

Is it going to spin off of Tron 2.0? If not, then it'll botch the whole storyline up. Tron 2.0 rocked!
I was wondering that myself, I'm not sure if it's going to use any of the story elements from Tron 2.0.
OMG, OMG, OMG! I'm so stoked for Hollywood to molest and pervert one one of the last pristine memories of my youth.
oooooohboy.
Isn't Hollywood what gave you Tron to start with?

Oh... I hope Bruce Boxleitner is brought back for this. He's awesome with sci-fi (ie Babylon 5).
