New York Comic Con 08: Hellboy First Impressions
Greetings from New York! Along with comic guy 00.19, I’m in the Big Apple for this year’s New York Comic Con, which will be going on from now until Sunday. Despite the name, Comic Con also has a very large video game presence, and we were lucky enough this morning to get to check out one of Konami’s upcoming titles, Hellboy: The Science of Evil.

Since a Hellboy game hasn’t been seen on consoles in years, it was pretty exciting to get to play a next-gen version of the comic book hero. The game looks really great graphically, and the characters look just like their film counterparts. The film actors also lent their voice talents to Science of Evil, making the experience even better.
Gameplay-wise, the controls are very intuitive. As Hellboy, the player can use melee attacks or the standard Hellboy six-shooter. It was a lot of fun to play with the game’s destructible environments. We only got to play through the training level, so we didn’t see that much of the game, but so far, I like what I saw. Hellboy: The Science of Evil looks like it could be one of the best comic-inspired games in recent memory.
Hellboy: Science of Evil will be out June 24 for PS3, 360, and PSP. We will be talking to Konami more this weekend about this and other upcoming titles, so stay tuned to Gamervision for more! And don’t forget to check out TheQuarterbin for even more updates straight from the Con.

it's so much better when they can use the same actors from the movie to do voice-over work for the game. especially since hellboy has such a great cast.
