Have you hit level 50 in Borderlands and you're running out of stuff to do? Well, I have some good news for you. Jason Reiss of developer Gearbox popped onto the game's forum earlier tonight to announce that, as a result of feedback from fans of the Borderlands, the level cap would be raised in the next installment of downloadable content. "...level cap increase anyone? Got it and it's awesome. Hopefully we can get a full announcement out to you guys soon but, man is this the biggest DLC we have made. So don’t worry, we are working really hard right now on both the update (that solves a bunch of issues) and the DLC. More to come guys!!"

It's really good to see a developer that actually listens to the gaming community, instead of just ignoring complains and constructive criticism. Considering that the last bit of Borderlands DLC was less than stellar, Gearbox really needed something bigger and better going forward, and it sounds like gamers will get just that. Raising a level cap is a really great way to keep the RPG/FPS hybrid fresh, and even though Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot was disappointing, I think Gearbox will be forgiven if the next batch of downloadable content is as good as they're implying it will be. As Reiss said, an official announcement should be coming soon, so we'll keep you posted.
