Many of us were pretty excited when No More Heroes 2 was announced. The first game in the series was one of the best Wii titles of 2008, yet didn't sell nearly as well as it should have, making some people doubt that a sequel would ever see the light of day. With No More Heroes 2 slated for an early 2010 release, creator Goichi Suda (better known as Suda 51) is already looking to the future of the franchise.

In an interview with 1UP, Suda 51 stated that he wanted to continue the series, but beyond No More Heroes 2, some things would be different.

"I want to continue the No More Heroes series, but I've finished the story for Travis. It's completely finished in No More Heroes 2. So I want to think of a different story -- a different character, or something like that within the series -- starting on the next Nintendo platform."

Yes, that's right--this is the last No More Heroes you can expect to find on the Wii. Suda 51 is apparently willing to stick with Nintendo, despite the fact that Mature-rated games usually don't sell so well on the Wii, and believes that the third NMH will be out on the "Wii 2", or whatever Nintendo's next console may be. This means that it will probably be several years, at least, before No More Heroes 3 is released or even announced. However, it also allows for speculation that, if Nintendo improves graphical capabilities with their next console, we may finally get to experience Suda 51's vision in glorious HD.
