Patapon 2 Coming, Here's Some Images!

Pata Pata... Oh, You Know

by Sarah

When Patapon was released for the PSP earlier this year, it was met with generally good reviews and was pretty much a must-have title for the handheld system. It was only a matter of time before a sequel was announced, and Japanese magazine Famitsu has gone ahead and done just that. Yes, rhythm fans, Patapon 2 will be coming this winter to Japan, which probably means we’ll see it in the U.S. early next year.

There haven’t been any real details about the sequel as of yet, other than the fact that it will feature four-player multiplayer mode instead of just the standard single-player the first game had. Kotaku also has some new screenshots today, which should entertain you for the next few minutes until the Microsoft Press Conference starts.

Looks like… well, it looks like Patapon, to be honest with you. Fun, a little crazy, lots of stuff going on at once, it’s all good. I just hope that Patapon 2 is released at the same budget $20 price point that the first Patapon was, and that there’s enough new content to not make this game just feel like a rehash instead of a sequel. More news to come as it arrives.
