Phil Harrison Wants Atari to Publish PSP Games
Because Someone Needs to
by Sarah

If you’ve been paying attention to the New Releases every week, you have probably noticed the distinct lack of PSP games recently. It’s a shame, because I really love my PSP, so it would be nice to have some titles to look forward to on the handheld. Well, apparently Atari president Phil Harrison feels the same way, as he believes Sony’s portable system is a “vibrant platform”. According to Eurogamer, Harrison and Atari are planning on making more PSP games in the future, with a specific focus on downloadable titles.
Nothing has been announced yet, so I wouldn’t expect to pick up any Atari-published PSP games in the foreseeable future, but it’s nice to hear that someone is planning to develop for the system. This is just the latest move in the Phil Harrison-assisted Atari comeback, along with picking up Cryptic Studios and publishing Ghostbusters. People may have thought Harrison was crazy to leave Sony for sinking ship Atari, but maybe he’s exactly what the publisher needed to stay in the business. It appears that we haven’t heard the last of Atari just yet.

good to hear, the PSP is selling pretty good so more people really should jump on board.
Not only have I noticed a lack in PSP games, but I've also noticed a surplus in Atari related news stories. For a sinking ship, they certainly are doing a lot in the industry.
I wonder if making more games and buying new licenses is a good way to improve your sales? Who'd have thunk?
Specifically focusing on downloadable games, though, is sort of strange.
