Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box Sells Big Outside Japan
Let's Celebrate With a Spot of Tea

It’s pretty much scientifically impossible not to love the Professor Layton series. The gentleman professor is intelligent and charming, and both DS games released in the U.S. so far have had excellent production values and addictively fun gameplay. In Japan, three games in the franchise have been released, with a fourth on the way this holiday season, but here in North America we only just got the second, Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box. There’s good news for Layton fans, though—Diabolical Box sold 1.26 million copies outside of Japan in the third quarter of 2009.
If you beat Diabolical Box, you likely noticed the image at the end hinting towards the next title in the series, so Nintendo had probably already planned on bringing the rest of the games to regions outside of Japan. However, maybe these numbers will expedite the process, especially since it should sell more during the holiday season. Considering that the third quarter ended in September, and Diabolical Box was released at the end of August, that makes the sales even more impressive. So make with the localization, Nintendo! I need more Layton and I need it now.
