E3 09: PSP Go Revealed, Not Fake
Qore Showcases Sony's Next Handheld
by Sarah

At this point, I think most of us pretty much knew that the long-fabled PSP Go was really happening. However, I expected this big news to be revealed at Sony's E3 press conference, not in the midst of a Saturday afternoon. But that's what happened! Check out the video for the first look at the PSP Go below.
The footage is from the June episode of Qore, Sony's subscription-based online magazine (via Destructoid). Well, my first Sony E3 prediction has come true--let's see how accurate the rest of my guesses are when the actual press conference occurs on Wednesday.
Show of hands, who is reserving this? I think I might have to.

WHERE ARE MY TWO ANALOG STICKS!!! HOW HARD WOULD THAT HAVE BEEN?!?! really.......
Kinda awesome. Goodbye $200+ dollars.
Yup, it's a Mylo 2 with PS controls.
hello PSP GO, goodbye Xbox 360.. cannot wait to get this
Seriously, 1 analog stick=no purchase. Damn shame.
Still no second analog nub! But the only thing that I'm really upset about is the lack of UMD. Those who adopt this too soon (me, and others like me) will probably learn that we will definitely miss the UMD's. Digital isn't always the way to go. I like my physical media as much [or more] that just downloading it. They also just said in the video that it has on-board flash memory of 16GB of space. What about a Memory Pro Duo slot? Not mentioned... upsetting moment. I just went and got one from Japan about a month, or so, ago and now they're making it a standard feature.
I'm going to buy it. I just want to read more about it. Oh, Sarah, I predicted this with my group of friends as well. I just didn't see it until a few minutes before I came to the site. You posted it first! Good job!
why is the analog stick such a big damn deal? in all honesty, the only games that you absolutely need it for are shooters. and we all know that there are plenty of shooters available on your home consoles. I mean, think about it here for a second. name another game type that the second analog stick is absolutely needed for?.... waiting.... driving games? nope. fighting games? nope. most of you fighter fans end up using the dpad anyhow. sports games? not really. truck stick isn't that important to madden, and you certainly don't need it in any other sports game. rpgs? hardly. action adventure? barely. but god of war psp proved it unnecessary. and aside from being used to rotate the camera in games like splinter cell and gta, those games barely make use of it either. platformers? um, no.
so what's the big deal? seeing everyone on just about every other damn site complain about no two analog sticks is really starting to get to me. sorry if it seems like im taking it out on people here (im not), but there's really no need for it on this particular console.
I agree with Qmarc Completely on this subject. i want this but i am not sure about some things and would like alot more information before making the purchase. i will miss the umd slot.
I really have to agree with 00.19 on this one, being a PSP owner for the last two years. Like he said, one analog stick makes it kind of hard to play shooters, but when playing RPGs, action/adventure games, puzzle games, platformers, driving games, or basically anything that's NOT a shooter, I don't even notice that there's only one stick.
That's it? I kinda expected more. Looks a bit awkward to hold if you ask me, but I like the sliding screen.
At least they stopped just numbering their consoles.
I'm not even truly upset about the second analog. Just something I noticed that Sony once said they would "improve" the controller. Just not one piece of improvement --with exception to a sliding screen-- and the details of a possible expandable memory slot are absent. That's what I'm more concerned about.
