Reserve Your DSi at GameStop Tomorrow

$25 Deposit, Get One While You Can

by Sarah

It's only been a few hours since Nintendo announced that the DSi would be coming to the U.S. on April 5, but gaming mega-retailer GameStop is already prepared to take your reserve money for the new handheld. Starting tomorrow, you will be able to reserve the DSi at GameStop, with a $25 deposit being required (this, of course, goes toward the full cost of $169.99).

If I remember anything from my GameStop days, it's that most stores have a set number of reserves they can take on systems--oh, and that Nintendo products sell like freakin' hotcakes. If you're serious about getting a DSi in April, you should probably head on over to your local GameStop tomorrow with 25 bucks in hand.

I just know I'm going to get this.

I also know I shouldn't, as I have no real use for it.

Not sure how I feel about the baby blue color, I already have a black DS, and I'm sure they will release a whole line of new colors once it releases. But I do enjoy new gadgets.

Seems a little unnecessary for me to upgrade just yet. I'll wait until they release some awesome software (and the price drops). Then I'll jump in. Although, video chat would be sweet,

Hmmm, seriously thinking this over. I guess as long as this one doesn't have a crack in the hinge I'll reserve one.

It seems like every time I buy the first iteration of a console or handheld, I get burned by glitches and new versions dropping immediately. I'm sure I've learned my lesson by now.

But why am I holding 25 dollars? And how did I end up at this gamestop?!?!

I just recently (November) picked up the Mario Edition DS Lite. I'm not sure if I want to upgrade so soon, but it's damned pretty!

In one hand I already have a DS Lite. In the other hand I can have a flip-book, two cameras, two touch screens, a better microphone, and better speakers.

I definitely have to think this over for about a day. I have a friend that works for Gamestop and can ask him if they're already sold out.

dude Q, save your money, you just recently bought one so i see no reason to upgrade so soon. Instead save your money for all the PS3 games you need to buy this year

I've had one for a few weeks to review the Opera Web Browser and can't tell you how vastly improved the quality of this system is over the lite. Even though i have one, I'm getting a US one because of the regional content. It's that worth it.

Meh. Another DS? I'd still use my big bulky red DS if my dickheaded brother didn't pawn it. Whatever. It's a Nintendo product. Just like Apple, they'll have a NEWER, MUCH BETTER version in a few months.

Gamestop? Ha! I reserved mine at an independent chain of stores. Where I do all my game shopping.

J-Man, that is why you are the shit. Well, I'm sure there's other reasons, but damnit, there goes one. While GameStop has some sweet and awesome swag they are ruining the fun "buying your games". Hiring ReeRee nubs who know nothing of gaming and it's people. Granted there are some who know some stuff, but THAT'S NOT ENOUGH!

    LONG LIVE INDEPENDENTS!

...Damn... I wish I had the money to open a Gaming store... Dreams... Winning the lottery couldn't come ANY sooner.
