We’re now less than two weeks away from the launch of Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, and to celebrate the launch of the rail shooter, Capcom has released the final trailer for the game. Though it’s the second game in the survival-horror franchise to be released this year, the experience should be much different than that of Resident Evil 5, and I’m actually looking forward to seeing some familiar faces, like Leon Kennedy, Claire Redfield, and Ada Wong. If Dead Space: Extraction has taught us anything, it’s that rail shooters are capable of telling compelling stories, so hopefully Darkside Chronicles will be able to live up to the Resident Evil name.

While the actual gameplay in this trailer is looking good, I definitely could have done without the super cheesy title cards like “A terrifying gun shooting experience” and “Gunshots signal a return to fear and darkness”. Hey, do you think there are going to be guns in this game? That doesn’t really set it apart from any other game in the series, so I’m not really sure why the trailer chose to push that aspect. If you can manage to ignore the text in the trailer, the game appears to be promising. We’ll find out for sure on November 17.
