Rock Band: AC/DC Confirmed, Wal-Mart Exclusive
For Those About to Rock, Go to Wal-Mart
by Sarah

If you were hoping to rock out like there’s no tomorrow with the rumored Rock Band AC/DC expansion pack, you are in luck. The AC/DC expansion has been confirmed, and will be hitting stores in November. The catch is, those stores will all be Wal-Mart, according to the NY Times. The game will also be available at Sam’s Club and Wal-mart online. The ad lists a price tag of “from $29.88”, which is vague; if I had to guess, my completely unofficial speculation would be that the expansion will be more expensive on next-gen systems. Even at thirty bucks, that’s a bit pricey for an expansion with only 18 songs.
If you look at the fine print in the ad above, you’ll see that these tracks “will also be available for play in Rock Band and Rock Band 2,” but again, how that will work is anyone’s guess. I wouldn’t have minded some AC/DC DLC, and some of those songs would be a lot of fun to play, but overall, I don’t like this one bit. I don’t want to see Rock Band go the Guitar Hero route of shoving out as many half-assed expansions as possible. We should hear more about this shortly, as MTV is expected to make an announcement about the deal later today.
