Rumor: Guitar Hero 5 Track List Revealed?
You’ll Get the Message By the Time I’m Through
by Sarah

Guitar Hero 5 (not to be confused with Band Hero) may not come out until September, but it looks like the set list may have already been revealed. The investigative team over at Joystiq believe that they have put together the list of songs to be played in the game, though this is completely unofficial and unconfirmed. Some of the tunes have been previously announced, and overall it seems feasible; in fact, I’m not sure that a single music game has made its way to retail without the setlist being leaked beforehand.

Additionally, there will be several real-life musicians featured as characters in the game: Kurt Cobain of Nirvana, Johnny Cash, Matt Bellamy of Muse, and the super-sexy, super-awesome Shirley Manson of Garbage (making me suddenly 200% more interested in Guitar Hero 5). I’m not sure how I feel about the late Cobain and Cash being featured, but I’m not about to get that debate rolling.
Overall, I must admit that this is a pretty solid setlist. Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Garbage, Queen, Rolling Stones, Tom Petty? Yes, please. I’m not saying that I’m going to run right out and buy it (nor will it make me forget about The Beatles: Rock Band, also launching in September), but it’s probably worth a look. Which songs have you excited, assuming this is legit?
