It’s now been two and a half years since Kingdom Hearts II came out, and in that time, we have heard next to nothing about Kingdom Hearts III. Sure, we’re getting some handheld versions with weird names that feature Roxas and a bunch of other non-leading characters, but I really only want to hear about the next true sequel in the series, which I’ve been waiting for a long time. There was even a teaser for KHIII at the end of KHII, so why are you taking your sweet time, Square Enix? Oh, right, you’re Square Enix.

Well, the good news is that we won’t have to wait much longer to hear more about Kingdom Hearts III, because rumor has it, according to Kotaku, that the game will be shown at next month’s Tokyo Game Show. Also fresh from the rumor mill is that KHIII will be a PS3 exclusive. While these rumblings are unconfirmed, both are totally believable. It’s not really a surprise that the game would only appear on the Sony console, since the first two games were PS2 exclusives, but after Final Fantasy XIII, I guess anything is possible. Still no word on Mushroom Kingdom Hearts, sadly, but I expect it’ll be any day now.
