Rumor: Matthew McConaughey to Star in Uncharted Movie

Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune is a game that’s very near and dear to my heart; in addition to being the first PS3 game I ever beat, it has some of the best characters and voice-acting of this video game generation. With the game being so cinematic, it didn’t surprise me when talk of a movie adaptation started right after Uncharted’s release. However, when I think about Nathan Drake, I think about someone likable, charming, attractive, and talented. You know who I really don’t think of? Matthew McConaughey.
Unfortunately, this may just be the case, according to a rumor on The PlayStatioNetwork. The blog claims that an “anonymous tipster” let them in on the fact that the star of such gems as The Wedding Planner, Failure to Launch, and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days was a strong contender for the role of Nathan Drake. Any hope I had for a decent Uncharted movie just went right out the window. I know I seem to be in the minority here, but I don’t find McConaughey attractive at all. Even more importantly, however, he plays the same damn character in every movie, and I have no interest in watching any of them.
Keep in mind that this is just a rumor, and I’m hoping it turns out to be completely false. Am I wrong in my disdain for McConaughey? There’s got to be someone better to play Nathan Drake, right? Stay tuned for tomorrow’s news, where we reveal that Kate Hudson will play Uncharted’s leading lady Elena.

The fact that Matthew McConaughey still works as an actor chills my blood. The apocalypse is surely at hand.

I'd rather see Adolf Hitler or Topher Grace instead of Mathew McConaughey. It's just wrong to be him sometimes. What about someone else that has actual personality and lewd sarcasm as a part of their daily lives? Maybe Nathan Fillion? Just a good thought. Not that I'm a fan of Nathan Fillion or anything. No. Not at all.
Dammit! I just noticed that Tim said the same as me. Great minds think alike, sometimes, and that's awesome!
Although if you wanted to go with someone younger than Fillion, David Boreanaz would be a pretty good alternative.
