Rumor: Uncharted Movie in the Works?
How About a Sequel First?
by Sarah
Last year's Uncharted: Drake's Fortune was one of few amazing games that also happened to be PS3 exclusives. It was also a very cinematic game with a great story and unusually good voice-acting. Therefore, it's not too much of a jump to assume that movie studios would want to get their hands on this license. According to Joystiq, that's exactly what is happening, and an Uncharted movie could be in the works.

Quoting an anonymous Hollywood source, the article states that the movie rights to Naughty Dog's PS3 gem have been picked up by Atlas Entertainment, and that the project is still in its earliest stages. Sony, of course, has stated that "we have not made any announcements regarding movie options." Nothing has been made official yet, but don't be surprised if you see an Uncharted movie hitting theaters in the next few years. Hopefully we'll have a sequel to the game by then, too.

I don't think there's any quicker way to destroy this franchise than to stick Matthew McConaughey in it.
