Well, if this is true, it might be the best news I’ve heard today. Telltale Games, the developers of the Sam & Max and Tales of Monkey Island episodic series (and my personal heroes for resurrecting the point-and-click adventure genre) have posted a teaser site that seems to be hinting, pretty heavily, that our favorite dog and rabbity thing freelance police duo will make a return in 2010. Fans of the series, myself included, have been waiting patiently for over a year for an announcement about Season Three. Okay, maybe “patiently” isn’t the most accurate word, but we’ve been waiting, and the wait could be coming to an end.

Besides a giant “2010” in between the familiar faces of Sam and Max, the teaser site also comes with a narrator who rambles some philosophical nonsense about the human mind and stuff. Since the duo have already explored most of the country and the moon, got Max elected President of the United States, traveled through time, and won a reality show singing competition, I’m not really sure what’s left for them, but it sounds like it might get trippy.

I can’t wait. We’ll let you know when Telltale makes a real announcement.
