A day after releasing a handful of old classics at very reasonable prices on Steam, LucasArts announced—again via Twitter—the pricing for The Secret of Monkey Island, the special edition of which is coming to PC and Xbox Live Arcade next Wednesday. Though it doesn’t share the $5 price point of other point-and-click adventures from the 90s, it’s also not badly priced at a solid $9.99 (or 800 if you go by Microsoft’s monopoly money). Considering that Secret of Monkey Island will be an update of the game and not just a port, this seems fair to me.

The game was already pretty much a must-buy for me, and this further seals the deal. Who else will be plunking down ten bucks on July 15 for some old school pirate adventuring?
