Sony: New PlayStation Store Will Load Soon
What, You Wanted Thumbnails?
by Sarah
Yesterday, the new PlayStation Store launched for the PS3, and it was pretty much universally agreed upon that the new store kicked the old store's ass. It was everything the store should have been from the beginning. Unfortunately, it was running a little on the slow side and blatantly missing a lot of icons, making browsing kind of difficult.
Sony is aware of the issue, and addressed it in their community forum today. Community Team Leader Lestrade posted this in response to the problems:
We are aware that many of you have experienced delays whilst the PS Store's thumbnail icons are being downloaded. This is a temporary consequence of a new system implementation and high global traffic levels, and will be resolved within the next few days.
That's pretty much to be expected, given the amount of people downloading this update. Hopefully it will be fine in a few days and we can all forget the original PlayStation Store ever existed. Much like a bad, bad dream.

It's nice and fast now. When I first tried it I was sorely disappointed because I had read that it would be faster. I know that sometimes things go wrong with projects with many variables (I do web design). I forgive them :) The store is so much better now.
