Square Enix OfficiallyAcquiring Eidos This Spring
House of Final Fantasy, Meet House of Lara Croft
by Sarah

The idea of Square Enix taking over Eidos has been kicked around the internet for months now, so it may not come as a surprise to you that the takeover is not only official, it’s happening soon. According to GI.biz, Squenix will acquire Eidos in late April, after the latter publisher’s shares are delisted. That means going forth, Tomb Raider will officially be a Square Enix property. That’s just weird.
We can’t predict what the merger will mean for the future of these two publishers, but we sure can speculate! I’m hoping that in the next Tomb Raider game, Lara falls into a portal to another dimension, which brings her face-to-face with some of the characters from the Final Fantasy universe. Better yet, just stick her in Kingdom Hearts III, assuming it ever comes out.
We’ll let you know when we hear more news about the merger, as well as when we settle on a new, unofficial nickname for the company. Squeidox, Squeeidix, and Squarnidox are still on the table, got anything better?

I hope they don't change Lara Croft....
Yeah, god forbid they make her games good.
i just don't see this working out.
Lara's hair is about to grow seven feet longer, her boobs will increase by six cup sizes, and her trademark twin pistols will be replaced with a sassy sword name "Gleebolx".
Here's the pitch!
Lara Croft: Echos of Time. It's a Role Playing Game. In fact, it's a Strategy Role Playing Game. Huh? Yes?
