St. Patrick's Day Will See Free Guitar Hero III DLC

Assuming You're Not Too Drunk, That Is

by Sarah

When I think of St. Patrick’s Day, I think of rocking out and playing Guitar Hero III to my heart’s content. Wait, no I don’t—I think about drinking beer and then drinking more beer. However, Activision is hoping that gamers will stop celebrating long enough to download some songs for Guitar Hero III. After all, they’re free!

In keeping with the nationally-celebrated drinking holiday, Guitar Hero III will have three songs from Celtic band Dropkick Murphys, available sometime in March, presumably. The songs are “Famous for Nothing”, “(F)lannigan’s Ball”, and “Johnny, I Hardly Knew Ya”. Whether you’re a big fan of the band or not, you would be foolish to say no to free stuff, even if (like me) you haven’t touched Guitar Hero since Rock Band came out. Activision’s full press release follows.
