Tenchu Stealthing its Way onto the Wii

ZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz...

by Sarah

Fans of Nintendo, stealth, and ninjas have something to be happy about: in the most recent issue of Japanese magazine Famitsu, it was revealed that the next game in the Tenchu series, Tenchu 4, will be coming to the Nintendo Wii. The game appears to be a Nintendo exclusive right now, but since there is no information yet on a release date, it’s entirely possible that in the coming weeks, it will be announced for other systems as well. What we do know is that the game is being developed by Acquire, the developers that brought you the earlier, highly-rated Tenchu games, and From Software, who brought you the Armored Core games as well as Tenchu Z.

I guess this could be good, but given the track record that Tenchu has had in recent years, I don’t see how. Tenchu Z, which came out last year exclusively for the Xbox 360, got horrible reviews; I personally found it to be a giant snoozefest as far as games go. Then again, there are still gamers out there who are fanatics for this stealth assassin series, so who knows. I wonder how the Wii’s motion-sensitive controls will be used for stealth kills. Actually, maybe I don’t want to know.

i don't even need to make this point, but it's no Ninja Gaiden.

and if they made the next Shinobi actually difficult, it wouldn't be so bad either
