Trauma Center DS 2 Headed For Japan
The Wii versions of Atlus’s Trauma Center series were fun and all, but I kind of missed being able to remove tumors and reassemble rib cages on the go. Fortunately, it appears that Trauma Center will be returning to its roots on the Nintendo DS, with a new game heading for the system.
Trauma Center 2 will be a sequel to the first DS incarnation, apparently forgetting about the new characters introduced in New Blood and bringing back Dr. Stiles and nurse Angie to clear up some unanswered questions. The game will also feature new tools and, one would hope, a better way of switching operating utensils on the fly, since the point-and-click method from the first DS title would often lead to a patient’s death if time was running out.
The next Trauma Center is scheduled for an August release in Japan. No word on a U.S. date yet, but this is Atlus we’re talking about, so I would expect to see it in the U.S. within six months to a year. I’ve been a fan of the series since its DS original, so I’ll be keeping an eye on this one.
