When Twisted Metal: Head On was recently reported to be making a jump from the PSP to the PS2, I could only muster up mild excitement. I was a huge fan of the Twisted Metal series back in the PS1 days, but never played the PSP installment, and playing a ported version of a three-year-old game was not exactly how I wanted to get back into it. However, this news does bring a smile to my face.
 
Apparently, developer David Jaffe decided to announce the next generation’s Twisted Metal through a hidden message in the PS2 port. During the included documentary, groups of numbers appear on the screen that correspond to letters. When deciphered, the code reads “Metal is coming on PSThree”. Jaffe has since confirmed the news.

I can’t wait to see how awesome Twisted Metal is going to be with PS3 graphics and possible online play. Now that sounds like the right way to get back into this series. No word yet on when we can expect this, but hopefully we won’t have to wait too long.
