Ubisoft Announces Call of Juarez Prequel

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood Now in Development

by Sarah

Remember Call of Juarez, the critically acclaimed decidedly average shooter for the PC and 360 that you just can’t stop playing? No? Well, how about Call of Juarez, the forgettable game that you haven’t thought about since it hit store shelves a couple of years ago? Yeah, that sounds more like it. Apparently, the Wild West shooter was successful enough to warrant a second game in the series. If you’re thinking sequel, you’re out of luck, because Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood will be a prequel to the original game. From the press release:

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood transports players from a ravaged Civil War-era Georgia to the Aztec ruins of Mexico. In the wildest West ever depicted, players can embody both McCall brothers in an intense storyline full of greed, lust and lawlessness.

Civil War? Mexico?! Greed, lust, and lawlessness?!?!?! BROTHERS?!?!?!??! Sign me the hell up. The game will supposedly be out this year for the 360, PS3, and PC. You can find out more in the full press release below.

UK, London – January 13th, 2009 – Today Ubisoft announced that it will publish Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and Windows PC in 2009. Yeah, the first one was rather meh. But... put this game on the FarCry 2 engine... add some multiplayer... that changes my opinion.
