Want Some Deathspank Teaser Trailers?

If You Said "No", Too Bad!

by Sarah

Among the many awesome things I got to do this weekend at PAX, one of my favorite moments was getting to meet Ron Gilbert. You know, the man behind Maniac Mansion and about half a dozen other games I grew up with, in addition to working on the first episode of the Penny Arcade game, Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness. Ron’s next title is a game called DeathSpank, another episodic RPG/adventure game for the PC.

Kotaku posted some teaser trailers first thing this morning, and while they don’t show anything in terms of actual gameplay, I’m still intrigued. Take a look.

It should be noted that the game has been described as “Monkey Island meets Diablo”, and if that’s true, I can’t see how this game won’t be awesome. Though no date has been given for a release, it’s been in development since 2004 and the website quotes is as coming “soonerish”, update from its previous status of “soonish”. Speaking of soonish, stay tuned to Gamervision to hear Sean interview Hothead’s Joel De Young to find out even more about this game.

Brilliance has just struck me! I'm going to go play through the Monkey Island games while simultaneously playing through the Diablo games. Then it will be like Deathspank already dropped. Or something even better!!!!

    Sometimes I scare even myself.....

If the Nippley Manglebrak really does give a +7 to sexy, I'd better be careful when equipping it, lest my sexy skills dominate all other.

Hothead are the new masters of gaming hilarity.
