WET to Be Published by Bethesda?

It Could Certainly Do Worse

by Sarah

When Activision and Vivendi merged last year, there were several casualties, most of them being Sierra games. Many of the games that hit the chopping block have since found publishers or even been released, but acrobatic shooter WET has been in limbo for months. However, a recent issue of Japanese magazine Famitsu is claiming that Bethesda has taken over publishing duties for WET. This coincides with WET showing up on GameStop’s new releases printout recently (despite not being on the retailer’s website).

I thought it was strange that WET had been given a reserve SKU despite not having a publisher, but now it all makes sense—assuming that this is true, of course. There has been no confirmation from Bethesda yet, but we will be sure to contact them in order to get that good old “no comment”. GameStop lists the game as having a September 8 ship date, though that may be just a placeholder. Maybe WET will make it to store shelves this year after all. I’ve been intrigued by this game since its announcement in 2007, anyone else excited?

Dual wielding a gun and a sword....you think the sword goes in the dominant hand, or the gun? My guess is the sword for more dexterous maneuvers but it could depend on your preference of weapon, really.

PS. Is this game about Christina Aguilera?
