For weeks now, I’ve been talking about finishing some of my unfinished video games from last year and even the year before, and I’m finally making good on that resolution. With January being fairly devoid of triple-A titles, I had time to get caught up, finishing Brutal Legend (and spending a good amount of time after that completing side quests). I’m also extremely close to the end of “The Answer” in Persona 3 FES, but I probably won’t have any time to play that this week, because I’m in the midst of another Japanese role-playing game: the PS3-exclusive White Knight Chronicles.

I’ve been looking forward to White Knight Chronicles since before it even had an official North American release date, and the localization took over a year, so it’s been a long wait. So far, I’m definitely enjoying it, but I must say that it feels a bit on the generic side. I also find myself comparing it to Final Fantasy XII a lot, with both the battle system and dungeon design. I’ll be playing WKC primarily this week, and I will need to get some online questing in, if anyone is picking it up tomorrow and wants to join me.

When I don’t have several hours to spare, I’ll probably spend a few minutes with Portal: Still Alive. I downloaded the Xbox Live Arcade title last week when it was on sale, and enjoyed playing through the entire game again. I’m now replaying the advanced levels, and remembering that some of them were, indeed, very tricky. I’m always up for a challenge, though.
