What Are You Playing This Week? 05.11.09
Eradicating Disease and Summoning Devils
by Sarah

With the last few weeks being kind of slow for new releases, and most of my reviews out of the way, I’ve rediscovered some not-so-new games recently. Firstly, I’m playing through Persona 3 FES, more than a year after buying it. I just haven’t had 100-130 free hours to sit down and play it, but I finally took the plunge and was reminded of how fantastic Persona 3 is. Even after playing Persona 4 with its improved battle system, Persona 3 is still incredible.
For Mother’s Day (and my mom’s birthday, which happened to be the day before), I went to visit my parents and downloaded Dr. Mario RX on my family’s Wii for my mom. She’s a huge fan of Dr. Mario, and the two of us used to play it constantly when I was younger. We spent a chunk of the weekend playing, and now I’m looking forward to playing it some more on my own Wii.
As if one super-Japanese, ridiculously weird Atlus RPG wasn’t enough, Devil Summoner 2 comes out this week, and I think I’m going to check it out. I’ve never played a Shin Megami Tensei game outside of the Persona series, but it seems pretty intriguing. With only three weeks to go until E3, I’ll also be trying to finish up any reviews that come my way and getting ready for the big event.
So what are you playing this week?

I'll probably goof around with some more Fallout 3, but then it's a steady diet of SMT Devil Summoner and MLB 09 for me.
Assassin's Creed, NHL 09 and I'm still trying to get some co-op Rainbow Six Vegas 2.
F.E.A.R. RS: V2 and GoW 2 Coop.
@Sean: Was beginning to think you forgot about me :)
I'll be trying to get through Wolverine on "Hard," downloading "The Pitt" for Fallout 3 so I can later download "Broken Steel," and plenty of Pure (thanks, Coop!)
I've been playing some Broken Steel, and I'll probably just spend countless hours wandering the wastes and getting into trouble. Just found Oasis for the first time - it's like a little chunk of Oblivion in the middle of the Wastes.
@shagino - never ever could I forget you! I've just gotten so caught up in Assassin's Creed that I haven't popped anything else in.
@Sean: You ever going back to Rapture?
@shagino - yeah, but I forgot that I had loaned it to a friend. It'll be a few weeks before I get it back.
Almost nothing. Not enough time. Finals this week. Maybe during the weekend. No more classes after Thursday's English Literature final.
For me since the few month has been slow, my goal has been playing catch up before June hits then I'm surly swamped. So, I'm try to finish up a crap load of games like Tales of Vesperia, Valkyria Chronicles, Persona 4, Chrono Trigger ( Damn RPG's ),Fallout 3: Broken Steel, Chronicles of Riddick :Dark Athena, GTA:Chinatown Wars, Midnight Club: Los Angeles, World in Conflict, Left 4 Dead and Rock Band 2.
Suikoden Tierkreis, MLB and whatever else gamefly sends me
Tiger Woods 09. Still deleting save files in Fallout 3 to get the Pitt working....I don't have very many left though : (
I'm actually back to playing Persona 4. Interesting you mention Persona 3 - I tried getting back into my last saved game recently and I couldn't.
It's not that I don't love P3 or got sick of it (only played around 20 hours) but at 20 hours the characters haven't really grown on me. Some I like ok, some not so much but in P4 I INSTANTLY fell in love with all the characters so I'm just going to finish that game and then start P3 from the beginning.
Haven't been playing much else lately. Even cancelled both my Warhammer: Online and DAOC subs.
Definitely going to pick up Devil Summoner 2.
