Xbox 360 On its Way to 1000 Games
Should Hit the Landmark By Summer
by Sarah
Working at GameStop during the Xbox 360 launch and the months following it, I remember how slowly 360 games were released. Back then, trying to find a quality 360 game was like… well, kind of like trying to find a quality PS3 exclusive is in this day and age. However, Microsoft’s latest console has definitely come a long, long way since then. In fact, it’s due to get its one thousandth game by this summer, less than three years after its November 2005 release.
This might be a little less impressive when you take into account that the thousand games also include downloadable titles. Still, that’s more than 300 games a year for the 360, which is really promising for 360 owners (or those thinking about picking up one in the near future). In the days before downloadable content, it could take twice as long for a console to reach that number, or it might never happen at all. Good work, Xbox 360! Let’s hope that this number can double itself before the console’s lifecycle is over.
