2K Sports Announces Cover Athlete for The BIGS 2
This Guy is Truly a Prince Among Fielders
by Sean

2K Sports has announced that Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Prince Fielder will be the cover athlete and spokesperson of this year's The BIGS 2. Fielder, who at the age of 23 broke Willy Mays's record for youngest player to reach 50 homeruns in a season, was selected because 2K feels he is "one of the most powerful and spectacular home run hitters in Major League Baseball today". Fielder is the second first baseman to grace the cover of this series, following the St. Louis Cardinals' own Albert Pujols.
Along with the announcement of the cover, 2K released a trailer highlighting Fielder's homerun prowess, and his rather jiggly tummy:
For his part, Prince Fielder was rather happy to get the cover, “I’ve been playing baseball video games for as long as I can remember. All of my idols have appeared on a video game cover, and now to have that same opportunity is truly an unbelievable feeling. I can’t wait to see myself in The BIGS 2. I’ll be the guy crushing mammoth home runs into the stands”.
The BIGS 2 is scheduled to hit store shelves on July 7th for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PSP, and Wii.
