Activision Responds to Courtney Love's Allegations
Somebody's Lying...
by Sean

This morning we brought you word that Courtney Love was less than happy about Activision using her late husband as a playable avatar in Guitar Hero 5. Ms. Love, who has always been a paragon of honesty and clean living, claimed that she never made an agreement with Activision and that she was going to "sue the shit" out of the publisher. We also told you we'd bring you word when Activision responded, and that word has finally come out.
In an e-mail sent to Joystiq, Activision makes it clear, in no uncertain terms, that Courtney was asked about Kurt, and approved using his likeness:
"Guitar Hero secured the necessary licensing rights from the Cobain estate in a written agreement signed by Courtney Love to use Kurt Cobain's likeness as a fully playable character in Guitar Hero(r) 5."
This means that someone is lying. Let's see if we can figure out who it is. On one hand, we have a major gaming publisher, that probably employs an army of lawyers for just this kind of allegation. On the other hand, we have an on-again off-again junkie alcoholic with a long history of talking out of her ass and pissing away Kurt's fortune and good name. I wonder which side is lying.... Hmmm.....

ugh, she's a mess. just when you thought she'd cleaned up or gotten better or at least dropped off the radar, the crazy comes back with a vengeance.
I wonder how Krist Novoselic feels about this.
Is anyone surprised she can't remember what she has done
