Army of Two: The 40th Day Gets Dated
Start Your New Year Off the Bromance Way
by Sean

Electronic Arts has unveiled the release date for Army of Two: the 40th Day, the sequel to the 2008 fist-bumping shooter. Beginning on January 12th of 2010, gamers can get their fix of homoerotic jingoism as Salem and Rios return to the 360, PS3, and PSP. 40th Day finds our unusually close heroes smack dab in the middle of Shanghai, fighting their way out as the city falls around them.
The game will feature completely redesigned multiplayer modes, including a new mode called "Extraction". Extraction will have teams of four players attempt to move through Shanghai as wave after wave of 40th Day Initiative enemies attack. The mysterious Initiative, apart from being the inspiration for the game's title, is a private army amassed by the evil, one-named Jonah, who seeks to establish his own empire.
If you're looking to play Extraction on the day of launch, you had better pre-order. Army of Two: The 40th Day will only make this game mode immediately available to those who put their money down ahead of time. Everyone else will have to wait until a month after launch to get their hands on it.
