Assassin's Creed Development Team Triples for Sequel
The More the Merrier!
by Sean

I'm having a hard time getting a read on peoples' excitement level for Assassin's Creed II. The first one received high marks from critics, and has to date sold over 5 million copies. But since Game Informer made the official announcement of the Italy-based follow-up, there hasn't been a ton of reaction from gamers or the gaming press at large. That doesn't mean that Ubisoft isn't putting their full efforts into making sure that the story of Ezio Auditore de Firenze isn't as good as, if not better, than that of Altaïr.
In an interview with NowGamer, ACII producer, Sebastien Puel stated that the game's development team is larger than the one that worked on the first; a lot larger.
“The team’s size for the second title of Assassin’s Creed 2 is about three times the size of the team of the first game,” Puel said. “Making [Assassin’s Creed] from A to Z took around four years ... it’s a very good thing we are keeping most of the core members who envisioned the first Assassin’s Creed.”
I can't see any reason to not be excited by this revelation. In an economy that sees more layoffs than new game announcements, it's good to see that Ubisoft isn't content to rest on their laurels and is ready to bring a quality game to market. Of course some people will tell you that too many cooks can spoil a broth, but I'm pretty sure that doesn't apply here. Pretty sure.

To hell with the nay-sayers! I would like to pick this up. I need to re-invest in the original since I only have a PS3 now, but hey, this should be a good game too!
