Batman: Arkham Asylum DLC Gets Dated
Dated, but not Detailed
by Sean

Ever since the game launched, the menus for Batman: Arkham Asylum have been promising that there would be additional free content. Recently, that message changed to let the world know that the free DLC would be coming on September 17th. Of course, it's still not exactly known what the new additions will consist of, but at least now we know when we'll find out.
The best guess for what the free content will be is probably that the Joker and Scarecrow challenge rooms, previously only available to PlayStation 3 owners and those who pre-ordered from GameStop (respectively), will be added for everyone. And while that isn't exactly a cop-out on the part of RockSteady Studios, it certainly isn't the most satisfying of additions. Think of it this way: if I'm right and the plan is just to unlock the previously exclusive challenge rooms for everyone, and you've been playing your pre-ordered copy on your PS3, then come the 17th, you won't get any new content. That doesn't exactly seem like the best way to reward early adopters.
Of course I could be wrong and the new content could be something else entirely. But for the life of me, I can't tell what that would be. Anyone care to venture a guess?

It's nice to see this game getting the support it deserves.
I hope it isn't just a fighting challenge room. Predator rooms, please!
