Bizarre Creations upcoming racer Blur has been described by some as "Mario Kart grown up". And from the look of the newest trailer for the game, that seems to be the case. The new video focuses on the five power-ups that will be available in the game, and how each differs from the others and from anything you've seen in other games. The turtle shells and banana peels Mario Kart fans love have been replaced with real world physics and the following upgrades.

• Nitro: a speed/power boost
• Shunt: a projectile fired from your car to lift another vehicle off the ground
• Shock: an EMP pulse sent out from your car that disables anything in the vicinity
• Barge: a force-field of energy that bumps any close traffic to the side
• Mines: these are fairly self-explanatory. They're explosive mines.

The world will have to wait until November to determine if Blur is really as much addictive fun as Mario Kart. But from the video, it's pretty clear to see that it's going to at least pack some punch.
