Castle Crashers Reaches 2 Million Downloads on XBL
That's a Lot of Castles Getting Crashed!

Remember Castle Crashers? You know, the side-scrolling action game with RPG elements that was such a big senstaion when it came to XBLA back in 2008 as part of the first "Summer of Arcade" promotion. It was such a fun co-op game experience that it would seem next to impossible to forget, especially in light of some news that just came from the game's developer, The Behemoth. In a press release sent out this morning, the developer let it be known that on Christmas Day, the game reached a lofty milestone, going over the 2 million download mark. To put that into some perspective, if you took all of those people, put them in one place, and gave them a zip code, it would be the 5th largest city in the United States.
Kelly Revak, whose official title is "Mayor of Behemothtown", was naturally elated by the news, saying, "Initially releasing the game we hoped a few hundred thousand people would play it. We never dared to think of one million players, let alone two million." In addition to patting himself on the back, Revak also offered the possibility that a special gift may be coming to one lucky gamer. "We're going to do something pretty exciting to thank everyone. Let's just say there's an XBox made of gold involved. GOLD."
Chances are the developer isn't going to be giving away an actual 24k gold console, as that would be rather heavy, soft, and meltable, but it does seem like someone out there might be getting themselves a custom-painted 360 at some point. In the meantime, The Behemoth is hard at work on their next XBLA game, BattleBlock Theater
