Cover Athletes Announced for Grand Slam Tennis
We Know, We Know, It's Still Not Madden
by Sean

In yet another not-quite-what-we-were-waiting-for announcement, EA has unveiled the names of the three athletes that will be on the cover of the upcoming Wii release Grand Slam Tennis. Not content to give tennis fans just one player, EA has selected three superstars to grace the box art with John McEnroe, Serena Williams, and Roger Federer lending their cartoonish alter-egos.
Speaking for herself, and all women tennis players, Serena Williams was happy for the decision, saying, "It’s very exciting to be on the cover of EA SPORTS Grand Slam Tennis. This game not only shows EA’s enthusiasm for tennis but for also women’s tennis. I know from experience how tough and gratifying it is to win all four Grand Slams so I hope people will enjoy the Grand Slam experience that is offered in this game."
This announcement comes in the wake of 2K announcing Prince Fielder will grace the cover for The BIGS 2, and although it's great news for Williams, McEnroe, Federer, and tennis fans, it just falls flat with me. There is only one cover athlete I'm waiting to learn about, and his name is Adrian Peterson. Er... I mean... I don't know who he is... heh... yeah... that.
Here's some screens of the tennis superstars in action. Grand Slam Tennis hits the Wii on June 15th.
